Abhiroop Medhekar is the Co-founder and CEO of Velocity, shaping the future of banking and financial services for new-age businesses in India. A seasoned entrepreneur and investor, he is passionate about reimagining financial products to better serve modern businesses. Before founding Velocity, Abhiroop was a venture capitalist at Elevation Capital (formerly SAIF Partners), where he led investments in the fintech and financial services sectors. He also spent five years as a management consultant at McKinsey, advising financial services and technology companies across India and Southeast Asia. Velocity is his second startup. Prior to this, he co-founded Taskbob, a consumer internet startup, and scaled it to market leadership in Mumbai, driving key functions across product, operations, marketing, and fundraising. Abhiroop holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering from IIT Bombay, where he interned at Google and received a full-time offer. However, he chose to pursue an MBA at IIM Ahmedabad instead. Recognized for his contributions to the fintech ecosystem, he was featured in Fortune’s 40 Under 40 list in 2024.
