Sushruthi Krishna
Co-Founder, Saaki

Sushruthi Krishna, is the co-founder of Saaki, one of India’s leading D2C ethnic wear brands. An architect by education and an entrepreneur by choice, Sushruthi’s stint with fashion started with her entry in the Miss India pageant in 2016. This proved to be her stepping stone into the world of glamour and business, which led to her introduction to the influencer and celebrity ecosystem.
Sushruthi started her first venture in 2017 with KIS Clothing, which eventually paved the way for her to plunge into the big D2C e-commerce market. Her connections with fashion and glitz gave her the spark to initiate a celebrity-driven brand in the ethnic clothing space. In this endeavour, she found a business partner in South Indian actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and together they marked the beginning of Saaki.
Sushruthi’s new age ideas of business intend to cater to the daily needs of a modern day consumer who is still rooted in culture. She founded ‘Merch Brands’ in 2020 with the aim of building a range of fashion and lifestyle brands under the same umbrella. Inspired by the life choices of a modern-day woman, Saaki was the first brand launched by Merch to fulfil Sushruthi’s entrepreneurial vision.
Although her first venture with KIS clothing did not take off well, Sushruthi took the challenges in her stride and made a mark as an entrepreneur by successfully scaling Saaki to greater heights over the last 1.5 years.
Born and brought up in Bangalore, Sushruthi Krishna belongs to a family of software engineers. She completed her schooling at Delhi Public School and later pursued a degree in architecture from RV College of Architecture."
